Standard 2.1 Faculty Sufficiency - Overall Program

Hiring plan for Faculty & Staff

  1. Program Director – in place
  2. Director of Clinical Education – in place
  3. Departmental Administrative Support – in place
  4. Faculty 1 (PhD/EdD required) – start summer 2026
  5. Faculty 2 (MA/PhD/EdD required) – start fall 2026
  6. Faculty 3 (MA/PhD/EdD required) – start fall 2027
  7. Adjuncts

The hiring plan is in place, and there is a commitment to recruiting Ph.D./Ed.D. level faculty. All faculty hires and clinical faculty will need to demonstrate knowledge of current research fundamentals and best practice assessment and intervention, particularly due to the program’s emphasis on evidence-based practice and the capstone experience.

We currently have one graduate faculty member who is well-versed in the adult neurogenic populations.

Faculty 1: The second graduate faculty member recruited will ideally have a background in childhood language disorders in order to be able to teach the coursework related to childhood language and speech.

The other two new hires will replace faculty at the undergraduate level. The first new hire would ideally start at the beginning of the 2026-27 academic year and the second at the beginning of the 2027-28 academic year.

The program director is willing and able to teach coursework at the graduate level. As faculty are hired, the perceived gaps in academic content areas and clinical practicum supervision will be fulfilled through the hiring of adjunct faculty.
