The undergraduate course is designed to address the Core Competency Areas required for a

Child Development Accreditation (CDA) accreditation to include:

● Child Development (18.00 hr)

● Interactions and Guidance (15.00 hr)

● Teaching and Learning (15.00 hr)

● Observation, Documentation, and Assessment (15.00 hr)

● Health, Safety, and Nutrition (12.00 hr)

● Family and Community Engagement (12.00 hr)

● Professionalism (18.00 hr)

● Management (15.00 hr)


Instructional Strategies (QM 1.2, 7.3)


This course provides 120 training hours that align with the Council for Professional Recognition

(CDA) requirements. There will be at least 10 hours in each of the 8 content areas. This course will

have a blend of online training (via ZOOM) and online coursework via EduCat.


Online work can be completed at any time within the assigned time frame. A portfolio will be

completed and assistance will be given in submitting MiRegistry CDA paperwork and the TEACH

scholarship application if applicable.
