Standard 6.3 Physical Facilities

The program is housed in the Science Building, which provides adequate physical facilities that are accessible, appropriate, safe, and sufficient to achieve the program’s mission and goals. The program is located on the ground level with elevator access to higher floors, ensuring accessibility for all individuals.

The clinic is conveniently situated near an exterior door for easy client access. There are designated parking spaces for clinic clients and nearby designated handicapped parking spots. Restrooms within and near the clinic are accessible, meeting the needs of individuals with mobility challenges. The clinic has a dedicated room for students to work on clinical lesson plans, therapy activities, and clinical documentation. The current number of therapy rooms is sufficient to support the program's operations, including the anticipated graduate program needs.

Classrooms are typically located within the same building as the departmental offices, ensuring proximity and convenience. Faculty offices are also housed in the same building as the program office and clinic, fostering collaboration and accessibility. Additional laboratory space is available in the Science Building and the adjoining Kathleen Shingler Weston Hall, providing ample resources for teaching and research activities.

Faculty, clinic staff, and students are encouraged to promptly report any issues related to accessibility or other client needs. These concerns, along with any accessibility issues raised by clients, are promptly addressed by the Director of Clinical Education. The program facilities meet federal accessibility requirements, with shared responsibility across campus to ensure compliance. The Chief of Police/Safety Director serves as the ADA Coordinator, working collaboratively with the Coordinator of Disability Services and Human Resources to address the needs of individuals with disabilities.

Client feedback is actively sought through satisfaction surveys completed at the end of each semester. These surveys include questions about accessibility and accommodations, allowing the program to identify and address any concerns promptly.
